Description
Description
Mayurakriti means the form of the peacock, and few motifs are as at home in Indian jewellery. The peacock opens its feathers when the rains arrive, which is why it has come to stand for grace and the arrival of celebration. Here it sits at the ear as the stud, worked in fine detail with a dark stone held at its centre.
From the peacock the earring opens into a classic domed jhumka, that bell shape Indian women have worn for centuries, finished along its rim with a beaded ghungroo fringe. The fringe is what gives a jhumka its life, swinging a half-beat behind every turn of the head and sounding softly as it goes. The oxidised finish deepens the dome and the feather detail so the whole piece holds together as one shape.
At 17.9 g the Mayurakriti Peacock Jhumka is substantial enough to make a statement without becoming heavy over a long evening. Wear it for weddings, festive nights, sangeets and cultural gatherings, with a silk saree, a lehenga, a sharara, or simply with a plain kurta and an open braid.

Jewellery Care
Jewellery Care
- Store in the provided pouch or an airtight box, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
- Avoid contact with perfume, deodorant, hairspray, water and household chemicals; wear jewellery last and remove it first.
- Gently wipe after each wear with a soft, dry cloth to preserve shine.
- For oxidised silver, do not use silver-polish liquid or harsh dips, as these strip the antique black patina. Clean only with a soft dry cloth.
- Remove before sleeping, bathing, swimming, exercising and household work.
