The red pola of a Bengali bride's shakha-pola pair — deep lacquer red, banded with a wide strip of engraved silver-toned filigree running the full circumference.

Worn in twos, and traditionally alongside the white shankha. The red is what the eye catches first against a white-and-red saree.

Handmade, so the lacquer depth and the engraving will vary slightly from pair to pair.
